My finger just hovers over the master power button and I slowly rest my finger on it but don’t dare press it. I stare into the console until my vision goes blurry and it snaps me out of this trance I was in. There was now a slightly different woman’s voice speaking in a different language, maybe French, I have no idea what is being said but I have to wait patiently until she hopefully reads out the numbers again so I can write them down and then I can figure out where I am going.

The lift goes on forever, there are about ten of us in this lift but there are a few groups of “migrants”, as we called ourselves in a kind of odd way, that have already ridden the lift to the ship and I think we are expected to either be the last or one of the last to make our way to our rocket. I was lucky, we got the fancy SpaceX Interplanetary Transport Ship. There will be many crammed into Russian cans or NASA equally can-like rockets but we get a sleek and clean environment for our trip.

Gym Buddy - NaNoWriMo Day 24

“It’s me, it’s Buddy… I’m cold.” -Truman Capote, American Writer

I have a friend, and I think I can call her a friend at least, named Dana. We met as she is the best friend of one of mine and she is into fitness. We have talked about fitness before, during my review of her Bachelor’s thesis, I asked her a few things and she answered my questions. However today her and I talked about fitness, nutrition, my goals and more but a Ybit more in-depth. We kind of made a plan and afterward, I asked and she kindly accepted my question if she would like to be my gym buddy.

Shopping for Chaos - NaNoWriMo 23

“‘So Lord, won’t you buy me a Mercedes Benz…’ that’s it! Haha!” -Janis Joplin, American Rock Singer

A simple shopping trip to IKEA quickly turned to nothing but absolute chaos. After work, I decided it was time to go to IKEA to furnish my apartment. The plan was, buy a bed frame, desk, bookshelf, wardrobe and file cabinet. I was to rent a van from IKEA/Hertz, bring it all home and assemble it between Sunday night and Tuesday morning (I am pretty good at procrastinating) A good friend will be spending the night and I feel like it would be a good idea to have furniture and be able to organize my room. I found all my items, loaded it all up onto my cart and that’s where everything went a bit wrong.

Saturn V - NaNoWriMo Day 22

Saturn V - NaNoWriMo Day 22

“Amen” -Wernher von Braun, NASA Chief Designer for the Saturn V and Former Nazi Rocket Engineer

Earlier this month, on November 9th, was the 50 Anniversary of the launch of the first-ever Saturn V launch. This was the launch of Apollo 4, the first full mission of the Apollo mission. It was intended, as successfully tested the entire launch system. It tested the three stages of the rocket, as well as the Apollo Command Module while also carrying along a Lunar Module Test Article (specifically Apollo LTA-10R) which was basically a big weight, the same shape/design and relatively the same weight of what would be the Apollo Lunar Module (or the Lunar Excursion Module [LEM]). This launch was the first following the Apollo 1 Cockpit fire that killed all three Crew Members during a launch pad test.

Inside and below, you will find out more about the Rocket/Launch Vehicle that brought the United States and humanity to the moon for the first and unfortunately, at the time of writing this, for the last time.
